Suggestions for Splattey Vintage Fuzz Replacement

I have always been a big fan of MI Audio's Neo Fuzz for my go to splattey vintage fuzz tone, but I have accidentally broken it. I figure now might be a good time for a change and too step out of my box. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good pedal replacement. However I am tempted to buy their new Version 2 Neo Fuzz, because the pedals are just fantastic. I am well aware of the holy grails ala Analogman Sunfaces, Fulltone 69, etc. Feel free to let me know. Ideally I am looking to have 3 fuzzes on my board. A muffey modern fuzz (which is taken care of with my dwarfcraft eau clair thunder and/or BYOC Triangle Muff Large beaver), a octave-up (which is taken care of by my fulltone ultimate octave), and a splattier vintage voiced fuzz (which WAS taken care of by my Neo). I have also been trying to figure out the difference between germanium and silicon voicing. I know the difference between the two, but the more I look at fuzz videos some germanium fuzzes sound more like silicons and vice versa. Does this have anything to do with the number of transistors? For example, I noticed a 3 germanium transistor fuzz sounds much nastier(in a great way) than a 2 germanium transistor fuzz. Thanks!

Check out the blackout effectors fix'd fuzz...fuzz 2 gets real splatty, and when you stack it with fuzz 1 you get a great exploding amp sound (it's also got a switchable tone/boost )

As far as germ vs silicon...silicons are generally a bit harsher, the distortion has a hard clipped kinda sound. Lots of output.
Germanium is usually lower output with a warmer/less clinical tone.

Both have their places, just different flavors of the amazing little thing we call fuzz.

About the # of transistors...for me it seems it's more about what the builder was going for.
My EQD dream crusher is a germ 2 transistor fuzz that just CRUSHES most of my other 3/4 transistors fuzz boxes as far as nastiness/gain goes

I do like the blackout effectors stuff, I have an original (#28) musket. Maybe I'll check out the fix'd. I however just saw that Fulltone is reissuing the 69 as the 69 MKII, which is going to rule. It will only be two hundred bones. He is also putting the soulbender back into production two, which also has that great square fuzz sound I love.

All the dudes who shelled out big bucks for the slight return are probably kicking themselves (I saw one going for like $1k at one point)...the '69 MKII is supposed to be the same as the SR.
I'd like to check one out if they aren't going to be unobtainium.

My Fulltone '69 Pedal (built in 1999, I bought it about 10 years ago) is not very splatty. I was disappointed in that at first, but the pedal cleans up so well with the guitar's volume that it has been the foundation of my pedalboard (I use it as an overdrive, fuzz and distortion pedal) for 10 years!

My splattiest fuzz is my Fulltone Octafuzz with the octave turned off. With the right guitar and amp it even makes good zipper and velcro sounds.

Good to know. Even with the contour knob (which I think is essentially a bias knob right) you can't dial in a lot of splat?

The contour knob seems to control mids. It has a bias knob (as well as an internal trimmer) but mine never gets what I'd call "splatty".

It can do everything from a sputtery Tonebender MKI to the Maestro to a thick velcro squarewave and it has a switch to take out the clipping diodes which brings it into a sweet raunchy 70s fuzzy overdrive like Neil Young type stuff.

It can do everything from a sputtery Tonebender MKI to the Maestro to a thick velcro squarewave and it has a switch to take out the clipping diodes which brings it into a sweet raunchy 70s fuzzy overdrive like Neil Young type stuff.

I sent him my original Univox to make a clone and he asked me if I wanted a Frankenstein version, so of course I said yes!
I have a ton of fuzz pedals and this one is in my top 3 for sure.
