HOG - Where does it go in my chain?

Post by onelouderash »

Given all the shit it does, my natural inclination is to put it after my wah and before my fuzz, but then the buffers wreak havoc on my feedback loops, but if I put it post-fuzz, there seems like a big volume dropoff when I engage it.

Hog owners, where do you place yours?

I'd definitely put it before dirt. Think of it as an instrument itself...and then the "there's no right or wrong order" bit.

Thanks for the recommendations - is this something where an effects loop might help me with the buffers? I don't want to lose the stomp squall on my Eau Claire Thunder, for example.

i have mine in between dirt, wah- Bloodrive - HOG - Metalmuff followed by rest of chain, one thing i've found with the HOG is i always have the "dry output" on min. havnt noticed any big vol drops, but they can all be set with the sliders
