So Yeah.....

Post by Bassboar »

So....I'm actually happy with the Bass Big Muff. But before all you other TB guys eat me alive for saying that, let ask you something. Is it really that bad? I mean, I'm not using it in a way you normanly use a Muff, I'm using it as more of a dirty boost, with just a teensy little bit of of dirt in Dry mode, and it's pretty good. However, you would never catch me dead using one as a full on fuzz, I don't think it even deserves to be called a Muff, but what the hey, why not. Chew on that my fellow bassists. Please don't hurt me :thumb:

Dude, whatever works for you, works for you. If you can get a sound you like out of a bent aluminum spoon connected to a tin can, go for it. I haven't had any experience with the BBM, but have used plenty of other "uncool" pedals and found great sounds out of them.

I like the it. :idk: It's not as good as a some other fuzzes but it's pretty fat and cool, best muff of any kind I've ever heard. BUT not having control over the clean volume is really stupid and that's why I'll never own one. That and already having a TAFM that does everything better. ;)

The important thing being what jrmy said, use whatever the hell you like the sound of. :)

Well, it's of no use to me because I hate clean-blended fuzz. And as a stand-alone muff, I think it sounds like poo. :idk:

But if clean-blend is your thing, then fair enough.

I actually do like the dry mode. I hate the "normal" modes. And it sucks that you can't adjust the blend level. But for around $60 you get a pretty good deal if you're into the sound. There's nothin' wrong with using it or the VT, or whatever else -- I personally dislike them but (seriously) pouncing on people who use certain gear isn't cool. You know, other than shit like the Minarik Inferno.

That's just unforgivable.

This right there was the only usable sound I thought it got... sort of a lofi-ness mixed in. I thought it was good for lo-fi sounds and only lo-fi sounds, I still stand by that it sounds [and is....] cheap and very un-muffy. I just wish they had spent a little more time on getting it right...

Thanks fellas  I just needed to share my love for the BBM. I'm just glad the hype has died down on TB.
