It's neato torpedo son.
I got mine for $550 + a Crush Fuzz to cover shipping. I was GASing for quite a while until I saw that deal on Talkbass. Supposedly the VB-3 (300 watts? It might be more) has an entirely different character and I wanted an amp that would break up and get dirty before everyone in a 3 mile radius goes deaf, so the 225 watts seems fitting. There isn't a ton of information out there on 'em and not even any really good demos so I bought it without trying beforehand...
I really like the EQ section and especially the versatile mid-shift selector. The resonance and presence controls are a great feature! I never use the "bright" switch so I can't really tell you about that. Also, I like that the effects loop is on the front but that's more of a personal preference.
Some people on Talkbass dislike the drive channel so I was a bit wary of that, but as it turns out I like it
With that channel's gain set high, it's more like playing through a very bass-friendly fuzz and less like the classic "cranked Ampeg" sound. I think this is maybe why a traditionalist wouldn't be into it, but again I dig that sound. When using the drive channel I usually leave the gain at 10-11 o'clock anyway, but I don't have an aversion to cranking it.
The clean and drive channels both have their own character and respond to pedals differently so it's cool to check 'em both out when experimenting with effects. In amps I look for a good clean sound above how it reacts with a ton of gain, and I like this one because it isn't transparent but also not overwhelmingly...colorful? It's not like how you can instantly pick out an Ampeg tone, for example. Nothin' against Ampeg.
So, it's a nice versatile all-tube amp, made in USA, not 40 years old, weighs (more or less) 55 pounds and isn't crushingly expensive. I like it a lot!
(also the 2,4,and 8 ohm switching is handy)
The only "downside" I see from using it is that it's not MASSIVELY loud until you really turn it up. It's not going to blow you out of the room at 9 o'clock on the volume. I dunno, that's not really a bad thing for me, and if you need more volume just get more speakers
That goes with the above statement in parenthesis.

Re: Let's see your AMP!
that is not bad considering what most tube amps cost.
If I find a good deal I may snag it.
if I still have a job come after April

Here's a rubbish picture of both of my amps with my bass and guitars that aren't mine. It's hard to take pictures of shiny chrome things and I suck enough at photos anyway.

It's incredible!
Sounds really huge, it's really dynamic, and it just sounds amazing. Pretty fucken loud too, I've done a few small gigs with it where I could have drowned out the entire band if I wanted. Seriously love this amp, cool gritty rock tone for dayz.

I envy your amp selection. I have always wanted a Klipp. I almost traded my 1993 SLP100 reissue for one but the guy dropped the Klipp while lifting it and I felt like I could not go through with it knowing that. Hahahah. At least he was honest
