Re: Fender Pawn Shop Series
pro coverage is %50 profit. GC employees make %10 of the profit and %2 of the total sales for everything he/she sold in a month. the funny thing is, as soon as you make good sales and you get a good comission check, you dont get paid for your hours at all. its purely commision. for most employees the commission check is pretty damn close to exactly what you were getting on min wage. so its a big lie. like everything at guitar center. I would have to sell $30,000 a month with $2000 of that being bullshit insurance that doesnt even pay out when you make a claim. lets just say that if you have to be a lier to work there and I hate how they got me into believing that I was helping people when all I was doing was scamming them.

Re: Fender Pawn Shop Series
Well said, my friend is always bitching about that place but he does pretty well, hasn't quite had the balls to jump ship yet. Working out great for me though! He was explaining the pay to me, it's insane how long some guys stay there and deal with that shit.
I can hardly stay in the store long enough to buy something, like baby sitting a bunch of obnoxious brats, banging away on guitars at high volume, I'd fuckin' lose it! I think he's somehow learned to tune it all out, lucky for him.

I could really see a good go of the Mustang or Musicmaster bass. I figure a Mustang with a mudbucker neck would give me a hard time saying no.

I think they'll be coming. There's a lot of potential for some cool Fender basses in this line, or some god awful ones. The Mustang or Musicmaster would be great choices now that they've already done the Jag Bass thing.

Ha! I've made GC guys crack
feedback is fun and stuff I all fairness... you have a bunch of metal distortions all plugged in... and expect me not to turn them all on at once? come on! It isn't my fault the pedals are by the counter....

lol!!!
I had a friend who had an experience like that when he was looking at gibson acoustics. The sales guy was being a dick and not really working with him, so my friend pulled a wad of cash out of his pocket and told him "look, I'm going to buy a guitar today, but not from you" and he walked out the door. Suddenly the sales guy completely changes his tune because he "didn't realize he was planning on paying cash" as if that should have any bearing on how he treats customers.

oh and back on topic, what's up with fender all of the sudden charging nearly $1,000 for cij/mim guitars while gibson has recently started offering made in usa guitars for under $1,000? I like both fender and gibson products and dislike both companies pretty much equally. Just think it's odd.

Re: Fender Pawn Shop Series
Cij and mim are two different things. 800 is too much for a mexi. American special is already cheap. This bridges the gap between highway 1 mim, signature mim, gold plated mim and the am special. cij actually has a pretty good history of quality. most of the parts for fender products are made in china now including the tuners for the american standard. manufacturing in asia without the china/squire name is a strategic move for fender to cut costs, increase margin, and fill in gaps in the product line that increase market share, thereby increasing profit. the %24 price hike on mia fenders in late 2009 was repealed after it was found to cripple the sales of new mia fenders. The new strategy is to flood the market in every segment. Gibson had a flood literaly in memphis. The $1100 gibsons have been around for a couple years actually.

Re: Fender Pawn Shop Series
Fenders took a pretty high price increase on their whole line a couple years back and it seems like they're still climbing. It's like they only offer the weirder stuff as MIM and MIJ, then stick it to you on price because you have no other cheaper option than Squier.

I doubt it, I'm sure you're in the majority. They already have a Mustang that fits your needs though, about time for a HB equipped model.
