EDIT: links work

Oh man... are You kidding?

As a kid, Elvis was my fucking hero (well, until I heard heavy metal in -83) to the point that the older guys thought I was cool enough to hang around as long as I didn't get in their way  Rockabilly was an intense phenomenon in the early eighties in Finland. And because the big brothers and all the older guys in the neighborhood listened to this stuff, I learned to like it. A lot, I'd say.

I'm not a rockabilly expert, but I have to say that the Rev. Horton Heat show I saw in '96 was one of the bestest shows ever.
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

Danny would do a bit of Rock-a-Billy now and then
He was much more than that though.

He would occasionally play the Psychedelly with Tex and Robert Gordon.

The DC music scene was like a small town back in the ‘70s, every one knew each other to some extent.
I had the privilege of knowing both Danny and Roy Buchanan

Hmm probably could do a whole thread on the Psychedelly itself.

Listened to a little rockabilly, and a lot of psychobilly in highschool. I can still dig it.

..too bad the circles are so small, closed and a ,lot of the die-hard fans so bloody stupid a longhaired bum :whateva: like me can't go there and enjoy the show. At leat, not alone. The last time I went to a psychobilly gig (a local band playing Nekromantix and a few rockabilly classics in the end of the set) I went with band mates and that was about to turn bad when a guy started to pick up a fight and called his friends to come and see girls with black nail polish. :grumpy: and those asshole fans were still playing with the shit in thir pants when I already listened to rockabilly music.
