Any Synth Mangler tips? I've noticed a couple of weird things: the noise(hiss) leaks sometimes; in other words, I can sometimes hear it a bit if one of the switches is on and the pedal is off. Second, noise seems to decrease the longer it's on. Once I flip it one, I get some splattery notes, but gradually the get quiter, eventually ending in almost nothing but static. What gives? Normal?
I'm mainly using a Jag HH Special, if that matters.

never had the pleasure of a synth mangler but the sm circuit gets pretty splattery and noisy with chaos switches... what sort of power supply are you using? if you are using starves and chaos switches on a pedal that is on a chain it can get pretty ornery...

Yes, important detail I forgot! I had it on my Pedal Power 2 for a bit, but I think for most of my playing tonight, it had a 1Spot cable going straight in from a shared power supply, nothing daisy chained with it.
Sometimes I think the wiring in this house is total shit. I hear the radio when nothing's playing through my computer speakers and I think it's killing my Hot Rod over and over.
The noise/chaos sounds par for the course on a Smangler. Shit wiring (which I've had plenty of experience) will certainly "enhance" your noise experience.... I usually set one circuit for "normal" fuzz and have the ohter one as a boost/blast or noisey. When I have a SM that is.

Yes! I played with it more last night and found that running the second one as normal, and the first one as noisy with full gain got some great results. This may be one of those pedals that tames me instead of me taming it.
Actually, lately, I've been digging the first one as quiet SM and the second as the boost/crazies. It plays fairly well with everything. And by that I mean it reacts to it. It's weird how gain, etc. makes the AB-Synth crazier, but it sometimes makes the SM "starve."
