Love the black Mantra  Has it been custom made for you, I saw a switch on it?

What is the blue one near the Dr. Scientist Reverberator?

Thanks a lot!

Every so often Blackout Effectors does a limited run of black Mantras. I also caught wind that they offer a low-gain mod, and that's what the switch is for. Basically you can run the Mantra like normal, or you can disengage one of the trim pots for a lower gain setting. When some black Mantras became available I ordered one, and had them do the mod before they sent it to me. Both settings sound great; I really love that pedal!

The one next to the Dr. Scientist is a FET Dream by Cause & Effect. It's one of those low gain, transparent overdrives (I hate saying that as much as you hate hearing it). I picked one up after I found out that they were built right here in my home town! Nice to have around for stacking or dialing in a different OD tone.

As a funny aside: I put a strip of black electrical tape across the name of the pedal to cover it up. I own a music school, and there are often kids around my board looking at it and asking questions. I could see a kid one day running home and yelling "Mommy, mommy! Tim at the music school told me all about his FET Dream today, and now I want to have one too!". Yeah, that's an angry phone call I can do without.

AWESOME board! How do you like your ParaEq? I just pulled the trigger on one yesterday.

Are you running it right before your amp after the delay and everything? That's what I was thinking I would do too.

Also.. What's that little toggle switch on your Vox wah?

Thanks! And congrats on your new ParaEQ, you'll love it!

BTW, if your screen name is referring to Charles Bukowski, he's one of my favorite poets. I have I-dunno-how-many of his books behind me on the bookshelf right now. I could read Love is a Dog From Hell over and over...

I do run the ParaEQ just before the amp. Sometimes I think I'd like to move it before the modulation so it doesn't screw around with what they're doing, but haven't gotten around to it. I'm am amazed at the power of that pedal. It's particularly good for tweaking the sound of the musket.

The Vox Wah is a Keeley Mello Modded Vox Wah. There's a whole long list of things that he does.

Haha well actually it's more of a reference to an obscure character from Dexter's Laboratory so that shows how sophisticated I am. I haven't read much Bukowski, but what I have, I thought was really beautiful. There was one in particular that I wish I could remember..

I actually just sold my EQD Hoof because it got lost in the mix when I used it with my band. Now I wish I could try it with the ParaEq. I have a feeling that may have made it a keeper.

Thanks for the info!
