SEPPUKU MIND WARP
HI! Anyone use one? If so do you find that when you use humbuckers it realy muds up the sound and even makes the amp go into overdrive? Im Just not sure if this is normal as all the demos I have heard (about two!) it always sounds clear. When I use single coils or roll the volume down it clears up but its pissing me off!!

Pitch Pirate might be worth a look too.

Ye I have been checking out the Pitch Pirate and it looks ace! I have also looked at the wow and flutter pedal but its out of my price range and I seem to have to many massive pedals.

Sea machine is awesome. The pgs and eqd demos really give a very accurate description of what it sounds like. I'd recommend it

The mindwarp definitely has a noticable volume boost, Ive had to experiment with where to put it in my chain and back off the vokume knob a little but I keep my guitar volume at 5 or 6 most of the time.

Re: SEPPUKU MIND WARP
Yeah I have no idea how the demos got such clear tones, because my Mind Warp muddied up all the time, and I used single coils or P-90s. And it wasn't the volume boost causing the mud. I assumed I had a defective one but now I'm thinking different.
EDIT: Found a demo I recorded of it, uploading now!

Re: SEPPUKU MIND WARP
My Mind Warp was pretty meh. I really wanted to like it but I ended up selling it because it was too muddy, too noisy, and quite frankly just didn't sound that great. Now if they all sounded like that demo on the FuzzHugger page...
But sadly this does not seem to be the case.

Sounds like it's be good for soundscapes and single note stuff.

Word. Bummer I wasn't looking for that at the time.

Re: SEPPUKU MIND WARP
from what i can tell there's one particular thing the Mind Warp does better than anything else similar i've heard, that kind of compressed/tape-warpage sound that shows up on the interstitial bits between tracks on Loveless and appears at the beginning of one of the YouTube demos. if i was rolling in dough and pedalboard space i'd buy it for that alone because i love that queasy seasick chording. but i'm a little weird in that i don't mind "dark" WRT modulation, which typically cuts my lows/boosts highs more than i prefer, and am not really interested in hi-fi effects other than delays and loopers. i don't try to avoid tone coloration, i actively seek it.
i wonder if the Mind Warp prefers to see a particular impedance level for the incoming or outgoing signal, and whether this might account for some of the complaints.

+1 As this is how I feel about finding pedals and or playing through different amps. Although the one recording I did of the To Here Knows when sound, turned out to be very dark but on youtube sounds pretty damn bright! It makes me think that maybe what we think is dark, when recorded can sound much brighter? Either way, I'd love to try both Sea Machine, Pitch Pirate (<--this) and Mind Warp. Although I'm nervous to purchase something I can't hear in person and wind up having to give it up, then regret it later. Oh cruel world.
