CosmiChorus question?

Post by sylnau »

From the Dr. Scientist website:
"The DIMENSION control alters the delay time of the special bucket brigade delay chorus chip. With it all the way down the chorus effect is very airy and flanger-like"

Is it possible to have that rock n' roll overdrive + light flanger sound with the CC? I know it's a Chorus but...

The CC has so many good sounds in it. I've been running mine set really slow with a bit of detuning. It's so sweet.

I really wish I had a delay with an effects loop to put the CC in...

It's definitely the only chorus I've ever owned that can do mild, lush chorus just as well as crazy, seasick madness with the flip of a toggle and turn of a knob. It replaced both my Analogman and Polychorus as it out performed both of these completely dissimilar pedals. Besides the mild and moderate settings, this thing can be a crazy noisemaker, fun as they come!

The Cosmichorus stabbed my chorus gas to death. It definitely has some awesome flange like sounds in there as well. I have had it for the better part of a year now and I still get excited about it, which says alot about a pedal.

I'm about a week into mine (birthday awesomeness straight from Ryan + Tanya; super thanks, guys!)

Still digging in and figuring it out. It's unlike anything I've had before...so many voices; it's like Sybil in there!

May I ask your help here?
How do you achieve to get flanger-like sound?

Here are some of the suggested settings that Ryan posted when I got my super snazzy Cosmichorus - hope these help :thumb:

Ryan wrote:Right on, Trey, glad you're liking it! Awesome looking pedal board too, bunch of totally awesome pedals!

The Cosmichorus does have a bit of a learning curve I guess hey... it covers a lot of ground. I can suggest some settings though! (For these settings, a knob all the way down = 0% and all the way up = 100%) And remember the volume control, the ramp symbol, only works on the wet signal. Also, the bottom toggle switch sets the range of the clock setting which affects how dramatic the chorus signal is, the middle position is the lightest, left is more dramatic, and right is very dramatic.

BOSS VB-2 vibrato setting: Mix - 75% to 100%, Treble - 75% to 100%, bottom toggle switch - middle position, Clock (the swirly) - 0% to 25%, Rate and Volume - how you like. This gives you a nice clean and clear vibrato effect and you're hearing just the wet output of the chorus chip, if you have Mix set 100%, true pitch vibrato.

Light flanger setting: Mix - 50ish%, bottom toggle switch - middle or left position, Clock - 0% to 25%, Volume - 50ish%, Rate - how you like.

Dark, thick chorus setting: Mix - 50ish%, bottom toggle switch - left position, Clock - 50ish%, Treble - 0% to 50%, Volume - 75ish%, Rate - how you like. (Turn this into a bright chorus sound by turning the Treble all the way up.)

Weird extreme pitch-bending: Mix - 100%, bottom toggle switch - right position, Clock - 100%, Volume and Rate and Treble - how you like.

Weird ring-mod sounds: Mix - 100%, bottom toggle switch - try all 3 settings, all sound cool, Clock - try all settings, all sound cool, Rate - 90% to 100%, Volume and Treble - how you like.

These are my favourite settings, the settings I go through when I test every CC and get to enjoy each one a bit since I don't have one of my own. *looks down and kicks a rock*

Thanks again, Trey, and if you have any questions don't hesitate to fire away!
