Still trying to rein in the AB-Synth. I was having a lot of fun in oscillation mode, both pickups on my SG vol rolled way off to create oscillation notes, then pickup selecting between the two. Got very cool ice cream truck chimes from it.

The note decay is awesomely 8-bit sounding. Definitely not the same sound as an Algal Bloom. I'm glad people talked me into getting both, as I like the Algal Bloom for fuzzy chord playing and fuzzy solos, and the AB-Synth (so far) for craziness and noise.

Har. This amuses me as my AB-Synth has become my "normal" fuzz, and my Synth Mangler my crazy eyez killa one. (I also use a Fab D and my amp's channels, just so ye thank I'm not bonkers for cocoa pebbles.)

I certainly like the AB-Synth, but the Algal Bloom has more clarity when playing chords / more than one note. The intermodulation distortion of the AB-Synth kind of kills the chord, for me. Could be that my pickups are too high-output and I should roll down the volume..

I've only played around with the AB-Synth for a few hours. I'm sure there's months worth of discovery in that thing, since the controls are so interactive.

I made a quick little blog about the absynth the other day. Forget a lot that mine if diff than the standard...gain control good for chords.
