Re: TREBLE BOOSTER
Always baffled me that Sabbath used treble boosters and was so heavy.

Re: TREBLE BOOSTER
i like the jhs treblebooster, a good and different (but similar) alternative to the ever popular Rangemaster!

Re: TREBLE BOOSTER
treble is the next heavy. Pretty soon all the kids are going to be playing at frequencies that make dogs scream. It'll be called barkcore.
But seriously, keep this juicy info coming, I too play through a Vox AC15.

Re: TREBLE BOOSTER
Here's the website: http://www.t-pedals.com/en/MetakBoost.html.
The Metak Boost is a germanium treble booster and fuzz. The big knob is for volume AND gain, lots of volume and gain... Unfortunately they've made only 10 Boosts, but I think there's a couple still available (btw, it isn't so cheap, I think it goes for about 250 €).

Re: TREBLE BOOSTER
Ive gotta agree with pretty much everything Devnulljp says about the boosters. Ive got a few and love the all. Id strongly recommend the Pigeonfx kits, I built one with a three way switch using an OC44, OC71 and OC75, each tranny has its own flavour, but they all sound great. Ditto on the DAM Red Rooster, Ive had 4 and they all sounded great. Brad Creepy Fingers does awesome work, as does Ian Ghost. The BYOC tri-boost is a great option on a budget also - it has a treble boost (Mine has a cv7112 - mil spec OC44) which sounds great and can changer the boosted freq (hi mid and lo), as well as a mosfet boost and another which i forget now - maybe just a clean boost? Anyways, they are cheap and pretty easy to build and give you lots of tonal options which all sound good. Another option I love using for boost it the Blackout Fixd Fuzz, pretty clean boost but just sounds so great, plus it has some killer fuzz tones in there as well.
buncha stuff...

devnulljp wrote:It's a bad name -- I always thought it was a kinda EQ so why not just turn up the treble, but it's not. It's a boost but it boosts more in the treble frequencies, and is good for shoving your amp into overdrive.aen wrote:I've never heard a guitarist that needed more treble. Explain?
Black Sabbath? That's a Rangemaster into various amps -- he used AC30s a swell as the Laneys early on.
Brian May? Rangemaster into Vox AC30.
Deep Purple? He used a Rangemaster into an AC30 as well as the HS treble booster into AC30 and Marshalls.
Rory Gallagher? Rangemaster into Vox AC30.
T-Rex? Rangemaster into Vox AC30 (among other things).
There's all sorts of arguments about whether the John Mayall Beano album has a Rangemaster into Marshall on it or not. EC says he didn't use one, but it kinda sounds like it.
it doesn't really give you more treble, it boosts, but the boost has a peak in the top end.
This is the most informative definition i've heard of a treble booster ever.

I've got the BYOC triboost with the same germ. transistor in it. Love that thing. Kind of want separate pedals for the MOSFET boost (just to compensate for weak pickups) and the germ treble boost (for searing leads)

Re: TREBLE BOOSTER
is the fulltone fulldrive 2 with mosfet a decent choice? i've heard it plays nicely with the AC15. the BYOC thing sounds cool, but i've got no clue what i'd be doing.

Re: TREBLE BOOSTER
Bringing back a somewhat dead thread
I have a little custom Jerms Rangemaster diddly on its way. Selectable between Treble, Mid and Full range boost. Stoked.
