He was the biggest dick in the world to the sound guy when he performed at my college. His group juust messed around during their sound check, but during the performance he made the sound guy come up to the stage like three times to basically ridicule him and make him change the micing set up.
EDIT: Haaaaaaaa I totally got the name wrong; the guy who performed at my school was Irshad Khan, but at least they are both famous sitarists?

i'd like to see some brass and more reeds in the free jazz nirvana group...George Lewis on trombone, a trumpet (i always go for Don Cherry here, but Joe McPhee might be even better), Anthony Braxton on bass saxes, and perhaps John Gilmore from Sun Ra's Arkestra on tenor. you're gonna need more than three saxes to balance out Bailey/Taylor/Haynes/Ali, who would be louder than a fleet of trucks as an assembled group.

i agree about more brass, but fuck braxton. i don't think he'd blend well.
