Exactly. A genius. Has been producing brilliant music since the late 70's. The range of his music is amazing and the level of quality is extremely high.

Has possibly the best music site on the whole web.

This thread is truly sad. No curiousity about the man or his music. I simply posted the board because I hadn't know what sort of pedal board he used and I found it interesting that he had a Cornish Board.....I thought somebody might be able to say something of use about it but I guess that was too much to ask.

Also, I don't give a good goddamn what the board looks like if he can wring cool sounds out of it. The giant metal casing reminds me of shots I've seen of Neil Young's live board...

given Julian's penchant for onstage antics and his custom-designed microphone stand, i'd assume the board is meant for him to stand upon. it's kind of hard to discuss when you don't know what's inside, though.

A favorite of mine is the early solo album where he seemed to be making an attempt to channel Syd Barrett, "Fried". I have listened to the Teardrop Explodes and the early solo stuff most. I was listening to some Brain Donor, recently, though, and liked that quite a bit.

I like the looks of the board, myself, and I think the Cornish boards are for pros who have figured out what works for them gear-wise and are more interested in exploring their imagination, rather than all the dilettantes, myself included, who keep thinking that a certain piece of gear is what will all off a sudden cause the heavens to part and a light will shine in illuminating and awakening the personal genii of the pedal possessor.

Cornish stuff is repulsive but always leaves me wondering when I see 'em, never can tell what's going on inside those behemoths (Boss in that one it seems...) and why they're so expensive???

nothing about him or his music... why are you so upset that everyone was talking about the board and not about him? start a thread about him if you want to discuss his music, or at least post a link to his wiki page or something...

the board is interesting to see and is most likely very well built, but what is there to say? it's some rehoused boss pedals in a giant woden 80's hair metal green box with a bunch of mega-huge switches and leds, cornish buffers and probably really nice wiring and routing that we can't see.
