I'll go with your version. That means I need an El Cap and crazy modulation. The Algal Bloom through my cheap univibe sounds crazy lightsabery into pulsing-through-your-chest doomy.I think a POG2 or Micro POG would be great for the crazy modulation box.

This is actually the size board I use at church. I'm leaving the tuner out of the equation (I have a Korg Pitchblack on the board), because that is not an effect, but a necessary tool for doing your job.
Current minimalist church board:
Radial Tonebone Bassbone --> direct to house - in effects loop - MXR Octave --> DigiTech DigiDelay (usually set on reverse delay) --> Black Cat Mini Trem
If I get to choose any pedals, including those I don't have, I'll go with this selection of pedals from ILF builders:
