Fulltone Plimsoul anyone?

Post by Baxandall »

I'm Plimsoul curious. Who here has one? Opinions?

I like every clip I've heard with it so far.

How will it handle a trebly amp?

I saw this picture of Hendrix, all he used was a wah.... And not even the Jim Dunlop Jimi Hedrix wah, just some old thing.....
Jimi didn't realise the horrible tone suck we had to listen to every time he used that wah.

In my experience, Fulltone + Trebley amps do not a good combination make
too legit to quit

I'm curious as well. I'd replace my OCD if I could get the sounds I want out of it, it's just a matter of a shop having one.

At the moment Nashville Tele through CCB to OCD to Exploding Head Pox to Trogotronic TR86 to Deluxe Memory Boy to Headrush E2 to Traynor YCV80Q.

when it comes to overdrives, this is the stuff i swear by. i tried the plimsoul, noc3 rock candy (which sounds very similar,) and about 40 other overdrives that i borrowed from prymaxe one weekend, and the seed of life, keeley overdrive, and skull od sounded the best to my ears through a fender twin with your standard fender strat.

the Skull OD is actually the best sounding one i found. it's perfect for that cranked marshall sound you hear all over loveless. i went with the keeley overdrive though because i found it suited what i wanted to do with it better. but i'll probably get a skull od too, because it sounds incredible.

if you're playing a super clean amp, and you want a really nice overdrive/distortion box, i'd highly recommend the skull od if you can get over how dumb the graphic is.
well i guess, but i just don't know.

You don't hear much about the Keeley OD, which is surprising based on the reputation Keeley has for quality.

just as funny

i swear to you, it sounds perfect. it makes me really mad to know that the pedal sounds so perfect and looks so dumb. logically that's fucked.
well i guess, but i just don't know.
