Anybody remember QUICKSAND?

Another one of my favorite lesser-known nineties bands.
They had DC hardcore roots....Walter, the singer/guitarist was in Gorilla Biscuits. After Quicksand, he went on to form Rival Schools and Walking Concert.
I was lucky enough to see the very last Quicksand show before breaking up. (I had no idea until they announced it on stage!)

I recommend both CDs if you can find either one.

i remember the David Bowie song "Quicksand", off of Hunky Dory. classic!!

I do remember Quicksand - I saw them play live with Rage Against the Machine. Good show. I got my first mosh-pit concussion at that show. Also, they had the best bit of promo material when I was working at the radio station - when they were pushing the song "phaser," they sent out a kids "laser pistol" with a Quicksand sticker stuck on it to promote the song. Since I was "the loud music guy" at the station at the time, I scored the Quicksand phaser gun! I wish I still had it...

the breakdown in Dine alone is pretty sweet, great drumming. I just wish the bassist wouldn't crank the treble.

Yes. Rival Schools was a good band too!

yeah i remember quicksand, one the most innovative new hardcore sounds of the 90s. i like them. more than the gorilla biscuits era.
