I bit the bullet and bought one of those pedal boards that Long & McQuaid sells, so my board is the bottom and the lid fits on top. It's totally worth the money (140?). Here's a picture of it even though like half these pedals have been traded: http://ilovefuzz.com/viewtopic.php?f=149&t=393&p=141725#p141725
The rhythm huitarist n my band uses a Cardboard box with pillows in it to keep the board from rattling around, it wokrs prett well. One of my friends uses an old suitcase which also works pretty well.

I use Stagg cases that are similar to these, cost me about 45 bucks apiece. I couldn't even find them on the stagg website to show here though. Just very basic with felt inside the lid to hold velcro.
