(HC changed embeds again, here is the vid he posted)

Besides the knob changes (a few toggles were converted to full on knobs), I agree with the tonal changes Kayzer mentioned (though I've never played a tzf
)
Keep in mind this was the v2.0 (we're now in 2.1?), Ryan was able to balance the refined taste of the 2.0 with the spooky/intense aspects of the v1.
I had a v1/2 and now own a v2.1, still one of my favorite pedals.
I think I'd even take it over my inifinitphase as my desert island modulation because it's capable of so many different sounds

Re: cosmichorus v1 vs v2 : What is the difference?
Very true, Jon, and good point.. I think that pedal in the video is the first new version before I made some pretty substantial changes... or did Dennis do a second comparison video like that?
The 3 knob version of the pedal doesn't have a lot in common with the current version except that it uses the same MN3007 chorus chip.
Jon's got it right though, the 3 knob version of the pedal was kind of crude but pretty fun.. it could go quite crazy but it took some liberties with the dry signal that were a mistake and it was quite hissy/noisy, plus the option of the dark/light tone shaping of the whole signal was not the best way of doing it either... just not quite as refined/elegant/powerful as it could be.
The current 5 knob version has changes that I think were a big improvement.. it has a dry blend that mixes your unaltered dry tone with the chorus signal, much better way of doing it in my opinion. It has a compander that kills the background hiss of the chorus signal, something that always bugged me about the 3 knob version. It has a big range of delay time available from really short to really long. Way bigger range of speed too. The active treble control that only affects the chorus signal is a great way of altering the tone of the effect, works much better than the 3 knob version's toggle switch.
And yeah, the whole 2.0 vs 2.1 thing.. I originally released the 5 knob version in a way that was just not quite there. I focused too much on making it sweet and clean and I neutered its ability to get weird... we didn't do many like that, less than 50ish, and we've been doing the current version for right around a year now with no changes, I think it's set up very well and does exactly what I was shooting for.
Let me know if you have any other questions about it! And thanks, Jon!

How to recognise V2.0 from V2.1?
There's a delay knob... is it possible to get a slapback chorus sound like the EQD Sea Machine?

Re: cosmichorus v1 vs v2 : What is the difference?
Hey Sylvain, there's not really a way to tell a difference between v2.0 from v2.1 other than seeing the pcb. We only did about 40 of the 2.0 though and it was a long time ago, fall of 2009 I think.
I know I covered this in the email to you, but to anyone else who is curious, no the CC can't do a slapback delay sound, it's delay range is quite short.. low milliseconds kinda range.

Whoa good catch, never noticed that before. The knob swap seems to have happened around the same time as the 2.1
You may be on to something there.
Mine is an early 2.0 dated may/09 (upgraded to current specs thanks to the good doctor), my mix knob is on the left

Great catch, Syl, geeeez you're clever! I forgot all about that little difference! Kind of made it a pain for the pedals I upgraded, had to wire the pots by hand since they're in different spots.. surprised I forgot about that little detail there.
We made the CC like that during the spring and summer of 2009 but then after our wedding trip/honeymoon on Vancouver Island I decided to overhaul the pedal to the current specs... all that ocean and coast and nature and relaxing made me want to change up the CC!

Re: cosmichorus v1 vs v2 : What is the difference?
the difference for me was that i could set the perfect sound on the v1 in an instant. but it had a horrible volume boost. the v2 sounds amazing, but i cant seem to dial in the sweet spot.
plus i don't know what half the knobs do.

I got my CC: viewtopic.php?f=146&t=9697&p=226399#p226399
I don't see a version number on the baord, but it's writter july 2010.
According to the date, it's a 2.1, but where is the version number?

The middle knob on the top row is the mix knob, it finds the sweet spots!

Thanks, Syl! Your CC was made for Scott last December, it's totally up to date.
