I've got it and it suits me. I haven't been looking at other delays at all since I got it. To me it is like a better version of the Boss RE-20.

Anyone run it on two amps.?. Sounds so lush and big... I've played all the settings but I stick it on multi heads A and C and just leave it and adjust the time to match the song... It sounds great on analog keyboards too...

I'll test it out with two amps soon. That would make the multi-head setting a lot more useful, haha.

I've got friends who DO NOT get my pedal obsession and suggest I need help (as if), and even they LOVE the Capistan... I think there is just something musical you can hear in it... I threw out the ehx mbdlx real fast... Strymon used the whole Sharc DSP to get the sound right... Top shelf fo sho...

Welcome to the dark side cj! Best sounding delay I've ever played. I really want that Timeline though. bronzetalon may have convinced me to sell my El Cap before the Timeline is released. But what shall I play in the meantime? :( I'll have to sneak my wife's Brigadier off her board and onto mine. :animal:

The Timeline is a little much for me. I'm much too simple of a delay user to take advantage of 1/4 of what it can do.

I had a Timebender for a while, and I ran into the same issues. Way too many options and features for me to deal with. It sounded really great, but I kinda felt like I was under-utilizing it. It was like driving a tank to the grocery store: way overkill for the job at hand. :)

EDIT: Now I remember what I traded for the Ross Flanger. It was an EHX Polychorus.

How's the headroom with humbuckers, lots o' clipping? Also, how's it handle fuzz/distortion? I've been trying to avoid this one but it sounds really good in demos, need it for more than just a clean channel delay though. I think it may be wise to just wait for the Timeline though, that thing looks really badass!

It only clips if you want it to. You can adjust the headroom of the repeats with the "Tape Bias" control.

I've played it 90% with clean tone, but I seems to do fine with fuzz or drive in front of it. I haven't yet tested it in front of my amp with the amp breaking up.

Thanks, sounds like it would work out nicely. I've been reading up on the Timeline, holy shit! So it's basically the El Cap plus 11 other models and looper, I must sell off some stuff immediately!

I just got my El Capistan yesterday. I'm so in love...

Now I just have to try to resist using it on EVERYTHING.

Use it on EVERYTHING... I do... I run fuzz into it almost exclusively, it's at the end of my chain so I can split it to two amps... I have the tape bias set at about noon and never really have to mess with it... So much you can do with it and it always sounds good... The noise tracks I made have El Capistan on the instruments going to tape and El Capistan on the mixdown going into my digital recorder... Capped on both ends...

Just got mine as well, the multi-head setting is amazing, and I love the way the SOS looper basically records everything you play without requiring a whole lot of tap-dancing. Can't wait to run one in stereo as well, it sounds huge enough as it is!

I bought a second amp a couple months ago, and as awesome as the el cap sounds through one amp, it's even better in stereo.

I agree. I might have stolen my wife's amp so that I can have my board hooked up in stereo. :whateva:

I was going to sell my old amp until I ran both through the el cap, ain't happening now. So instead of having $500 or so to spend on more pedals, I think I'm going to have to spend some money on more stereo pedals, specifically the upcoming Dr. Scientist ultimate stereo tremolessence and cosmichorus. What I don't get is why most stereo pedals don't have stereo inputs?
