oh man. that amp has made me consider selling off my collection (musicman hd130r, plush p1000s, sunn concert lead, acoustic 150) to get it...

Big Jim came alive a week ago. Sounded just great! Pretty much the same amp except the power supply is a bit different. I left it with Ben and he passed - Jim that is. Ben said a resistor let go. If I understand via phone which resistor it is - most likely a factory defect - just a bad resistor. I will have him back tomorrow and we'll see. It was a brutal 100 watts. In fact it ruined the hard drive in my computer that was in the room. I plugged in, played for 20 minutes - looked up and my computer screen was asking if I would like to start in safe mode. It (computer) still won't work.

I wish this amp was possible for me to have...I'd at least like to play it so i could figure it out and decide that it totally is worth not eating pbjs for a few months to get.
