So I'm trying to get a good supply of components on hand so that when I'm trying to build something I don't need to order parts unless they are uncommon. Radio Shack carries almost nothing so it's no help, and time is somewhat scarce so when I have some where I can work I need to be able to.
I'm good on caps and resistors. I bought several large multi-value/type bags of each.
So, of the other types of components (ICs, transistors, diodes, etc...) what are very common things I should have on hand?

Can't hurt to repeat this stuff, so here goes:
ICs:
• Single op amps (TL071, LM741, LM301, etc)
• Dual op amps (4558, TL072, etc)
• Rail-to-rail dual op amps (TLC2272, etc)
• Quad op amps (TL074, LM3243, etc)
• Charge pump (MAX1044, etc)
• Digital delay, such as PT2399
• Voltage regulators, like 78L05
Transistors:
• Common BJTs, such as 2n3904, 2n5088, MPSA18
• Darlington BJT, like MPSA13
• JFETs - J201, 2N5457, MPF102
• MosFETs - BS170, 2n7000
Diodes:
• Switching - 1n4148, 1n419
• Rectifier - 1n4001
• schottky - 1n60p, etc
• germanium - 1N34a, 1n60, 1n100 (there are all basically the same)
• zener - 1N4739a 9.1v
If you have ^^this^^ stuff, there's not a whole lot you can't build.
