yeah, glad im not down there (im in the lower north island) but i was born down there, and a shame to see all the city destroyed. hopefully they can learn from the buildings that are still standing, when they rebuild. (most of the buildings that fell were around 100 yr old brick buildings so...) it was only a 6.3 quake, but VERY shallow at <5km deep, they also had a 7.1 quake 6mths ago, with no where near the damage of this one (that was 30km deep) and constant aftershocks since september (over 5000 of them) pretty lucky really though, its now been a week since it hit, expected death toll to be around 200 (148 confirmed at the moment) which is really bugger all when you see the destruction, and the city has 350 000 people living there ( a lot of them have left for now)
Hooray! My Ampy has been brought back to life, and it sounds better(and possibly louder) than ever. Next thing on the list is a 2x12 and some new cables, but I might have to pass over those for a moment because there's some real snazzy stuff in B/S/T right now.
