It's 4am... let's play some Slayer on the Elements!
My first video so go easy on me! I'm still learning how to do this best and thanks to Kayzer for showing me the ropes!
A couple caveats first... you might hate this guitar tone but please remember it's not the only guitar tone you can get out of the Elements, it's full of different guitar tones, and this is really just for fun since I love this midrangey squishy crunchy tone and I think it sounds a lot like Slayer and I also love playing a little Slayer.
It's not a comprehensive demo of the Elements.. it doesn't really show off anything other than one specific tone. It's just a view of a breadboard for 4 minutes. I don't do any solos or even play above the 3 biggest strings. I'm just having fun here, man, and I know some of you guys like this kinda music too.
So here's my first demo video ever, lots more to come soon as I get more comfortable with it and pro at it!

Guitar: Fender Telecaster, EMG 81 bridge pickup, Eb
Amp: Mesa Triple Recitifer, clean channel, tones at 50%, gain at 25% (totally completely clean), volume set fairly low for a late night Slayer Jam while Tanya snoozes, Mesa 4x12 cabinet.
Effect: The Elements on the bread board, ready for stores in less than 2 months.
Controls: Mix: 100% wet, Hi/Low Gain Toggle: Hi position, Clipping Toggle: LEDs, Gain: 50%, Bass Cut Toggle: Position 1 (heavy bass cut), Bass: 65% (after distortion slight bass boost), Midrange Frequency Toggle: Position 2 ~400Hz, Midrange: 75%, Treble: 50%, Volume: 40%
Zoom Q3 for the recording with no other processing and no reverb.
PS - Yeah, I have monster feets, so what?

I'd love to comment on the sound but, I got hypnotized by the leds.

That sounds awesome. I keep forgetting, is low gain mode basically The Cleanness mode? Or is there some distortion in low gain mode? Often I use my Cleanness to shape my clean tone, so I was wondering if that would still be possible with the Elements...
I also can't wait to see the finished on these!

That sounds good Ryan. Bonus points for using Slayer as demo material.

Hell AWAAAIIIIITTTSSSSSSS
I frigging love that song. Somebody loves his Slayer
Back on topic, this sounds great Ryan. Have you tried it with passives? I'm wondering how it would react to less compressed pickups.
For the gain knob, if it is on 0% does that effectively lower your gain, retain gain unity if you will, or something else?

Will you be able to see the little LEDs pulsing in the production version? Because that would be AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWESOME!
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

You must have been doing it wrong. I didn't see any demons being summoned.
Or, maybe they just didn't want to wake Tanya.
Demons are so polite.

Re: It's 4am... let's play some Slayer on the Elements!
Thanks guys!
Yessir, well, pretty much. The low gain side has a lot more range than the Cleanness from less gain to about 10 times more gain, plus the clipping choices. But yes, you can set the Elements to sound exactly like a Cleanness and just eq your tone with it while staying at unity gain.
I don't have a bass but I have a couple low tuned guitars, a baritone Les Paul and a 27" scale 7 string... you can cut or boost as much bass as you want through the circuit and the clean blend doesn't alter the signal in any way, so bass and synths will sound awesome through this sucker!
I actually like passives much more than actives, I'm a single coil guy really! I think the circuit shines with passives, it's really clear and open and very quiet... I was going to do this Slayer demo with a single coil Telecaster as Slayer still sounds awesome with a jangly country guitar and the Elements... but ended up going for maximum Slayerness with the actives.
For the gain knob, 0% in the low gain mode does effectively lower your gain.. it goes a little bit lower than unity gain so you can use it with the volume control to de-gain an amp channel or a high gain pedal or whatever you want.
Haha we talked about that idea but no, no visible LEDs.. there's just room in the box panel for a bunch of flashing lights. Plus, I think lots of people will use the pedal in the 'open' mode with no clipping diodes so the lights would just be a waste of space, taking up the tiny bit of room we'll have for the control labels.
I think I was. *looks down and kicks a rock* I was trying so hard to get Cthulhu to come over but I didn't summon anything at all... probably should have had the gain at... 55%.
