Is it ok to run a Musket V2 at 18v, or would it fry the circuits? Would it sound any different than running it on 9v? Couldn't find any info about this on the net... only found someone mentioning that the Mantra can run at 18v.
I thought I would ask before I actually do it, don't want to ruin my beautiful Musket!
On the Blackout Effectors website you can download the owner's manuals for all of their pedals. The manuals say what voltages you can run each pedal on.
The Musket manual states that it should run on 9V.

Very true, and definitely the source to follow until stated otherwise (wouldnt want to fry your pedal or warranty).
That being said, some fuzzes sounds great at higher voltages and Kyle im sure knows best what his pedals can handle. I would bet it would run at 12v more safely than 18v though (NOT that im saying to try either).
Different pedals, just because they may be the same type of effect doesn't mean one rule applies to all pedals in that category. I wouldn't run it above 9v unless Kyle states otherwise.

Yeah Aen said not to either, I was laughing because we both wrote almost the same thing about 12v caps. Dont up the voltage unless the builder says it can handle it.
The V2s are safe up to 18V. Most of the V1s are not, which is why were careful about how that information is disseminated. You'd be surprised how many people are not willing to read an entire paragraph of info, choosing to only skim until they hit what they want to see. By listing all Muskets at 9V it stops a lot of would-be fried V1s from happening.
Thanks for the replies, and thank you, Kyle. Good to know. I haven't tried it yet but now I might try it later on. I'm well aware that it states 9v on the website and in the manual, but couldn't find anywhere if it's actually safe to run it at 18v. That's why I started this thread.
