There's gotta be. I have a friend who hacked a sega controller to play samples and synth phrases, and who is hooking up a DDR pad to do the same, fr cryin' out loud. Ya just need the brains for that kind of thing, and I sadly do not...

Word. Some of the stuff people do makes me wanna peruse a degree in "making shit out of other shit."
Most tablet PCs are well under 3 grand, and I'm SURE there are sequencer programs that can be hooked to midi interfaces or something...
I have no experience with that sorta thing, but it can't be that hard...
Plus you could run Guitar Rig and Ableton and whatnot for live shows.
