Re: Favorite Chorus???
I've only ever owned a few "pedestrian" chorus units, so I can only comment on those, but I liked the Ibanez CF7 and DOD FX62 for different reasons...
The CF7, because it does the insane pitch-bending tremolo effect that gets ridonkulously fast... I liked it for vocals mostly. I did not like that it colored feedback loops heavily when activated, but I enjoyed the quirky extremity of the effect itself.
The DOD FX62, because it's one of the best-sounding choruses to use for multiple signals at the end of a chain when both outputs are used... It's really adds a lot of depth when plugged into separate mixer channels... I used it mainly for noise, FWIW. It's alright anywhere in a feedback loop too, but it's nothing special. I think it really shines at the end of a chain.

While it's rather simple, I absolutely love the chorus circuit on my RE501 Space Echo. Used to own a Boss DC-2, which, despite only having presets, sounds amazing in stereo. I love my pitch pirate for weird chorusy/vibrato/tape vomit styles, and I have a cosmichorus arriving this week! YAY.

DOD Deep Freeze. Unsung chorus, it simply rules.

Should put my T-Rex Twister for sale soon...
I'll go for the CosmiChorus or the Sea Machine not sure yet (they are very different).

The Sea Machine is a hybrid like my Twister. For my taste the Twister is too sterile and plasticy (digital).
Does the Sea Machine have that sterile vibe to it or it's more natural (like the CosmiChorus)?

Re: Favorite Chorus???
The sea machine is like a wacky pitchbent vibrato-ish modulation device that happens to do a few chorus sounds.
The cosmichorus is an incredibly thick/lush chorus that happens to do a few wacky pitchbent vibrato-ish modulation sounds.
Does that make sense?
The seamachine has a few unique controls you won't see elsewhere like animate and dimension, which let you control the swing of the pitch and add a bit of verb/echo to the chorus. The shape knob is also awesome for blending tri/square wave.
The cosmichorus is better for tailoring a specific chorus tone with the various speed/intensity toggles and treble knob to control "warmth".
The cosmichorus contains every chorus tone found between the sun and betelgeuse. It never leaves my board.
I love both and plan on keeping both.

Re: Favorite Chorus???
the sea machine is super natural, imo.
@gunner recall: thats exactly why i love it. if anything its more akin to the early boss pitch vibrato

Thanks Gunner Recall and Gearmond (very helpful explanation)!
Need to sell the Twister first... have time to tink.

The fender starcaster is the only chorus pedal I've used, but it's definitely worth 8 dollars.

Really 8 dollars? New? How can that be?
