They sound good/play good,but are a bit fragile. Knobs fall off,input jack wires come undone. But if yr real careful with them,and don't travel extensively with it,then it should be fine.

I have one too. It's been sturdy enough, but I'd consider every one I've seen a blem.

eh, doesnt seem worth it to put in all the work just to make it playable and not have to worry something will break or fall off every time i pick it up

Mine works great. It is my beater. I haven't had any reliability issues. It's got some finish blems and the tuning peg holes aren't drilled symmetrically.

four words to live by: adjustable temperature soldering iron. four more: get the right solder. which is to say electronics-type solder with a low melting point. some of those little heat-sink clips, or some hemostats if you have them laying around from roach-clip use, are also handy. the point is, don't overheat your wires and components.
