i'd put it a little differently: the ways in which music can change the world are pointless and counter-productive. e.g. David Crosby loves to insist that CSNY helped end the Vietnam War; he never talks about the millions of Indochinese slaughtered by the Communists after the war ended. pointless and counterproductive. Neil knows.

The geetar shop has had my geetar for three weeks now after the dude said the turnover time would be "about a week". This combined with hoping every day that my TAFM will arrive is killing me!

And I keep having weird dreams! I've gotten to writing down every detail I can remember lately...

change "guitar" and "guitar shop" to "interview clothes" and "alterations shop" and "TAFM' to "3-knob Great Wall" and i'm you.

i've been having weird dreams for months now that are like series of dreams set in one location with a particular group of characters and similar events occurring, which will then change to another setting/cast after a few days/weeks. for a couple of weeks i was disrupting a huge family reunion at a big hall on the Stanford University campus; then i was racing to catch an airplane to go to Amsterdam for a weekend, or going to San Francisco to buy t-shirts. i'm used to weird dreams, but i'm not used to them repeating like a show on cable.

I think I am about five years older and my optimism is still in check.

I think I am mad out of step with the world that surrounds me.

Hella mad out of step.

so the college i thought i liked a lot has a message board/social networking site. i think i mentioned it.

using it for like, however long i've been using it, EVERYONE I'VE ENCOUNTERED HAS BEEN BORING AS FUCK. hnnnggggh. one guy was like 'i'm looking for some christian friends and maybe to meet that special someone' like it was ok cupid or something. shit's weird yo. i guess it's a good thing though, especially because it would've been near impossible for me to visit that one before attending, and the other school i got accepted at offered me a travel scholarship to go spend a few days there. and that one has a reputation for 'eccentric' students. except it's in wisconsin and the other one's in oregon. sigh. i hope it's awesome though. because i'm kinda sick of being surrounded by mostly boring people. that sounds retarded and pretentious and it probably is.

i am trying to figure out if they're just appearing boring because it's a message board (although the opposite is usually true) or if they are actually boring. i feel like a huge asshole for judging people i've never met. but isn't that why they set up the message board anyway?
