Morley Deluxe Phaser

Post by bigchiefbc »

I've had this old man for almost a year now, so I figured I might as well go ahead and finally do a demo for you guys.

Some nuts-and-bolts details: 6-stage, optical, 3 controls: speed depth and regen, made in the early 80's, 12V 1/8" adapter or 2 9V batteries, weighs a ton.

Tone notes: Like most 6-stage phasers, it has a really resonant, "notchy" sound. Its sweep is slightly uneven, so that it has a slightly drunk, univibe-y feel to it. Like most phasers, sounds best after dirt/fuzz. For a phaser, I really dig it, although I think I just need to accept that I really just want a univibe.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck, I want that thing SO BAD! DAMN YOU BCBC, I HAD FORGOTTEN ALL ABOUT IT!!!!!

Sigh.

Well, if you ever do get that Univibe, I'm happy to give the Morley a good home.

Good job! phasers are hard to do demos on.

As of today, this baby is MINE ALL MINE MWAH HA HA HAAAAA!!!

Thanks BCBC - I only got the chance to play with it a little tonight, but it is indeed as awesome as I remembered. Straight up magic after dirt. This + my Stanimal Hyperion on proto-Ruiner setting = glorious, glorious synthy perfection. I can hardly wait to try it with the rest of the fam.
