So I played a bunch of guitars at the stupid Guitar Center this weekend when I had little else to do. Mostly some Teles that didn't impress me, but . . .

I played a new Dano U2 single cut with the humbucker, and, well, aside from the knobs, I pretty much loved it.

So now, you're job is to convince me I don't want it. Not too hard, right?

I agree with smile_man, if you must by Dano, buy used.
Used to have a Korean U2 and I liked it for slide, but I'd never play one as my main guitar.

I saw a used one go for $125 at a local shop, they can be had on the cheap if you search around a bit.

Anyway, I have a dano (I BOUGHT IT FROM MY BROTHER DONT WORRY) and it's pretty rad. I need to redo the wiring, as the switch broke and I can only use one pickup. But they are very twangy and jangly and sound nice. Fun to play too! You said the one at the store has a humbucker? Why would you do that? Lipstick pickups are part of the sound, unless its a lipstick humbucker, which would probably be just as silly...

Yeah, they have new ones that are two lipsticks routed as a humbucker, just on the bridge. The neck is still a single coil. I dunno, I like humbuckers. Maybe it's because I always play guitars through my amp or an amp just like mine setup in the same way, but I just don't like single coils much. I like meat. (Well, from my guitars, not in my stomach). I also think that's partially because I only look at cheap guitars; too my ears, cheap humbuckers are tolerable; cheap single coils are not.

Anyways, I like low end. Maybe I'm just an idiot.

What am I? Rich? If I dropped that much on something new, it's going to be an amp. Or a car! I can't see myself ever spending more than $500 on a guitar. I won't bore you with why.

I just mean, it's a dano, they aren't really renowned for low end or anything. It's all about that shrill jangle. The humbucker seems out of place there. But I guess it work in that silly dano way
