I had one, right now im trying a timefactor which I got used for the same price as a new el capistan. The el capistan had better tape modes but the timefactor has way more functions so right now im ok. Will prolly change when the timeline comes out though.

My roommate doesn't care about tons of pedals like most of us do (uses a dmemoryman & a Jerms muff), but he said the capistan was something he needs to have. I haven't used one yet so the in hand gas hasn't kicked in for me.

I don't really want one...it does way more than I could ever possibly need...and I'm already GAS'ing for a different delay pedal...

I don't want one. to me they just took stuff that is available in d.s.p. and put it in a stomp box. They did make a nice easy to use package but if I wanted digital delay/tape sim I would just use a computer or a piece of rackmount gear. every studio in the world is ditching perfectly good rackmount gear and nobody wants it in their guitar rig because it isn't "cool" anymore.

Moi.
It looks like it's pretty top-of-the-line, but I've got a DL-4 that I use pretty much only for the loop, and really not all that often.

p.s. Ugh... I'm starting to type like that with the caps and phonetic misspellings.

Fuck a tape sim. I WILL have a space echo someday.
Maybe next month if I'm lucky

Meh, too much delay for my needs. I'd rather have one of the ~$150 delays like DT Jr or Mont. Echo and spend the rest it would take to get to the Cap level on more fuzz/dirt. For me, having excessive amounts of dirt tones is much more useful than having lots of delay.

I LOVE MINE.
I can't live without it. Of course just like any other delay, its not for everyone. For me personally it nails the exact sound I want. The only other delay that I feel is extremely lush and organic is the DMM.
The size is perfect, I love the boost/reverb/extra features, and the infinite repeat hold is incredible.

I'm not really all that hip on it. It sounds really nice, but I already have nice sounding delays.
It would have to sell itself to me in person in order for me to really gas for it. As it is, it's just one of those nice delays that I'm just not too interested in.
