ucreate music (battery compartment) power starver?

mine came w/ some dead batteries in it and it was goin all crazy on me like it had a mind of its own, thought it was broken .
would be awesome to reproduce that w/o having to change the batteries back and forth.

the ucreate has no power supply jack unfortunately, runs on 4 AA batteries. its rated at 6V dc, and 2W.
would putting a pot in there work?

would this be basically what i needed? maybe a different value pot cuz its 6v not 9v?

i found a 5k pot lying around my house last night....it was rated at 0.5W and the back of the ucreate says the power is rated at 2W...does this matter? not a good pot to use?

Honestly, I don't know. If anything, the pot would go, not the device, so there's that at least.
