Re: The spite, hate, rage, apathy and mild irritation thread
Woke up to two large piles of dog vomit on the floor outside my bedroom. when I went downstairs to get the bags and paper towels, I stepped in a third, larger pile of dog vomit. These were all big, 140lb dog, tepid piles of gooey chunks. At least I wasn't wearing socks.
A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, God said, "Let there be Lips!" And there were, and they were good, and the lips said...

My dad just used the phrase, "Don't be stupid," referring to my gauges, which are only at 6g.
I'm 21 years old.

My parents have it stuck in their heads that I'm going tribal or something. I just want to go to 0 or 00.
And I will never be able convince them that it is possible to get a job with gauges.

and then you'll think "man how much I've changed" it happened to me
and it will happen to you its called growing up.
This sentence irritates me almost as much as the phrase "overcoming adversity."
You irritate melife is hard things don't always go your way get over it
there are way worse things that can happen not to go on a rant but it just seems
like people are too sensitive nowadays when something happens to them they freak
out regardless of how trivial some situations are.
lol, I just really like arguing trivial things for the hell of it. The problem is that on boards like this(and often in real life), I come off as a lot more serious than I mean to.
My concerns were merely rhetorical, I agree with the point you were making 100%. "It's called growing up" just seems so haughty and disrespectful towards the person you're trying to help. I also feel like it's used so often that it's lost it's meaning.
The phrase "overcoming adversity" really grinds my gears because it's completely meaningless, and it is only ever used to evoke generic ethos from an audience and to brand any opposition, or even apathy, as heartless. Next time someone uses that phrase substitute it for "did something that was hard." In fact, I'll do it for you(taken from a simple google search):
-"Why do some individuals do things that are hard while others can't get over it?"
-"If you want to do something that is hard, you have to step out of your box."
-"Doing something that is hard is never simple."
Essentially, it's just a way for speakers to make a dumb, obvious statement seem more insightful than it really is.

I agree but it comes from both sides as well, the people who use these phrases adhoc and the people
who overanalyze everything that is said to try and find hidden meaning where there is none or belittle
the use of said phrases just to appear as part of the counter culture(not calling you this).

It's difficult for me to not instantly hate any rock song when I hear a saxophone come in. These songs are generally ones I'd never listen to of my own volition anyway, but when they come on the radio or something...NOPE.
It's only acceptable if you're listening to Oingo Boingo.
