So today I was at Long & Mcquade today and I was trying out some pedals and I found the Boss Bass Overdrive. I decided to give it a try, and holy shit!
This thing sounds huge on guitar. I was playing a Strat into a Fender Princeton Reverb and a 30 watt Orange amp, both of which the Bass OD sounded huge through. It's isn't really an overdrive rather a very thick fuzzy sound. I really enjoyed how you could blend in the clean signal with the dirty signal. About half way on the blend knob brought out the jangly clean of the strat, layered with this huge fuzz sound, kinda reminded me of the Japandroids or some of the stuff off the new Wavves album. Being able to have tons of fuzz with the ability for chords to ring out was really cool, not to mention the eq was really interactive.
I have never found a Boss OD or Distortion that I liked other than the FZ2 and 3, but this pedal is really great!
