Man, I love that bees in a can sound the big muff can get. Just this piercing arrow of righteous fuzz coming out of amp straight at my face.
I'm not even really the biggest SP fan but the guitar tone on Siamese Dream is probably the most perfect sounding thing I have ever heard - a IC based muff and a JCM 800, if you believe the legends?
Can you even comprehend how great it would be if they reissued that album with a bonus version with no vocals? And drums? Just a wall of fuzz...... I'd like that, you know......not that the singings is absolutely horrible or anything.......
i've owned several diff big muffs over the years but the only one i've gotten on with is the deluxe big muff. even that one i could do without...that said, i do pull it out ever so often when recording. the tone machine and brassmaster were the ones that hooked me.
I like them and think they have their place. I personally think the sovteks kill for metal/sludge rhythm sounds. I also like them for doomy bass sounds.
