Had to work a long shift with 15 tasks to do,..by myself; when the previous shift had 3 tasks to do and got a short shift (yesterday,...also by herself). She could have helped out by replenishing some of the backups and stayed an extra half hour or hour, but no,...she passed the buck. I guess I'm the only one not allowed to be selfish. The amount of work I had to do was just overwhelming. The shittiest part is the bosses act flabbergasted that I'm overwhelmed. WTF.

I HATE THIS SHIT! It happens all the time to me as well. We're always, ALWAYS running out of stuff halfway through the night so we get to play catch-up when it's already overwhelmingly busy. Is it really that hard to stock up before you leave? Fuck, you don't even have to do that -- it would be cool if you'd just prep stuff like you're being paid to.
YOU AREN'T EVEN ON THE LINE, YOU'RE IN THE BACK CUTTING THINGS UP
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING ALL DAY GUYS
WHY DO YOU GET AWAY WITH THIS

I quit that job today. I just didn't fit in there. In my experience most cooks love what they do but they get agro from time to time. My agro was justified but it mystified the boss and brought her mood down (her words, not mine),...so rather than continue to bring people down I just stayed in bed. I got a text from the boss saying "Did you quit?" as if that was what she wanted all along (so she wouldn't have to pay unemployment). I told her I'd be in to pick up my check, my tips and my personal belongings this afternoon.

On the plus side I can bring my badass Shun Santoku knife home and leave it here. On the minus side,...I might use the knife to emo slit my wrists.

I thought this was Obama nation and he was going to pay for me to sit on my ass and not do anything,...what a crock of shit.

Luckily the wife has a stable and decent paying job. We'll have to shift around some finances but this is an opportunity for me to get back into school which I've been putting off because working 6:30 am til Noonish and going to school isn't very feasible. I want an electrical engineering degree. At the very least I want out of the food service/hospitality industry.

I don't think Obama wants you to sit on your ass he wants you to find a job you like and are appreciated at
however that means finding something that involves you not dealing with the public directly. :p

I don't mind the public,...in fact I hardly ever dealt with the public at this job but when I did I was good at it and if I had to I was really good at faking it. There are a number of bridges that I could cross again but that would mean going back to the line and I really want to get away from cooking for a living so I can enjoy cooking for my family.

I do want to go back to school and before I went back to the line 2 years ago I had fully intended to get enrolled in an electrical engineering program, but I can't completely lean on my wife to do all the earning. How do people do it,...work FT and go to School FT. That takes a lot of motivation.

I'm not concerned with making a lot of money,...I just want a job that I enjoy, I can work at long term, call it a career, get some medical benefits, some retirement and not be stuck under a glass ceiling. Wishful thinking?

To say that I enjoy my job would be a stretch but it's decent enough compared to what I've done before, the rest pretty much applies. I work in accounting. Software has evolved to the point where you're essentially a glorified typist and don't need to know what's going on. Most people are fine with not knowing, that's being positive, most people working in accounting are too stupid to figure it out. This is a good thing because that makes it really easy to get ahead if you do know what's going on. It's an easy job, you get to sit in a chair all day, there's always demand and the pay isn't bad at all.

@Haki,...can these jobs be gotten with just a HS Diploma? I'm dumb (for not going to school when the economy could actually support paying for me to go to school and I had the credit to invest in myself).

So I actually talked to a real person from usps and they told me that my fuzz factory is in u.s. customs which could hold
on to it for up to 30 days which I'm sure they probably will cuz its a little metal box with wires and knobs that some fucking
asshole customs agent will assume is suspicious WTF.

Not sure if they'll hire you without anything more substantial, but you certainly don't need anything more. Around these parts (euro trash land) there's more supply than demand so employers get to be more picky and go for diplomas and experience. I have no idea about trainee positions but if they offer those, I don't see why you wouldn't want an older guy whose actually worked before compared to some teenager. Look around to see what they're demanding and then find out how fast you can get that.

Basic accounting courses are easy when you can do 8th grade math, if you've got the discipline to study a couple hours each day you should have it done in no time.

Ha I was following your chat on FB. You must be queebin. Unfortunately you can't get a contact high over the interwebz.

I'm probably going to have to curtail my cigarette and weed smoking since our income is cut by 33 percent.

The only money in weed is either cropping out or moving weight and I'm not going to be doing either anytime soon. Maybe I'll go be a clipper somewhere.

It's bugging the shit out of me and i don't get to stop freaking out / have a doctor look at it till march X_X . I think it's been there at least a year or two as well and it's just recently gotten annoying. It would be really shitty to have breast cancer as a 20 year old male . I doubt that ( the chances would be like 1 in a 1 million)but i'm probably going to have to have it cut out and it's like the size of a quarter so i probably get to have another large uncool scar.

dude shouldnt u be able to tell the doctor whats wrong and get a closer appt. i know by me if u were to tell the doctor/nurse/receptionist u got a growth and ur scared it could be cancer or something dangerous theyll scehdule u in asap
