I prefer black socks for low end tones, but sometimes I've just gotta break out the ole' white ones for their intense octavia tonez.

Here's my current "board"
Image
Crappy picture sadly T_T keep forgetting to take another when I can get some good, natural lighting

Chain is OCD > Pitch Pirate > Sunny Day Delay > Tremulator > Solemate > DT-10
I like using the pitch pirate to play around with the SDD's oscillation sometimes. I've tried the tremulator before the SDD, seems more atmospheric but I think I like how choppy it can get after. I'll have to try it again when I get an adapter or more batteries (curse demeter's stupid power jack). Another change I might make is moving the SDD after the solemate to make the delays more prominent. Who knows! This is fine for now though.

Thinking about adding some kind of glitchy fuzz for freakouts. Perhaps a BIT or glitch computer. Also, Newark made me want to get a Sea Blue EQ. Finally, I always want more overdrive pedals. And a cocolase....

How do you like the OCD?

I have a chance of getting one very cheap.
Haven't decided if I need it or just want it because.

I played an OCD at the weekend and, despite the horrible Guitar Center guitar and crappy amp, liked it quite a bit. Lots of very bright full overdrive.

TBH it was overshadowed by the Heavy Electronics Grind Fuzz I tried out at another place: it had all that beautiful overdrive of the OCD but could also do some fabulous wailing fuzz.
ILF pedals: DE Eye of God, Mellowtone Wolf Computer, Mellowtone Singing Tree LE, Fuzzhugger Arc Flash Oscillator, DSc Miniberator, Mysterious J boost/cut/tremolo pedal

ive read that there are some pretty large differences in the tone of the old OCDs vs new OCDs. the originals are often described as being scooped in the mids, specifically.

Yup, the first two versions were scooped. Mine is v3 and I love it. Some people try to claim it does low gain better than distortion, or just the opposite. However, I believe the whole gain range to be highly useable. Its extremely dynamic and natural sounding on low-med gain, and it really gets fuzzy at high gain. Since it gets a little muddy with the gain all the way up, I either have to adjust the tone knob appropriately, or I turn on the bassman's bright switch. The result is this cool MBV type distortion.

Here's a site that explains the differences between the OCD versions:

The only pedals I have are a DigiTech XBD and two Dunlop wahs. I will soon have something new though :bob:

i usually run two boards. this is the first one, from last night... what the singer from IDIL called 'the distortion bank.'

the hype and aenima don't currently have velcro, so that's why they're all tilty. is it just me or is the hype really quiet? i feel like i need to really crank the knob to get it to match the other pedals.

new fave combo: SM side of the rocket into the aenima = :omg:
