So, thinking about picking one up. The really cheap ones. Custom Classic I think? They pop on my craigslist all the time for less than $500 and I need a smaller amp for small gigs, and want to try something different then what I have right now.
Does anyone have one?
If so what are your thoughts?

The cc1 is poop. The new c1 they released in 2010 is amazing on the other hand. I got one when they first came out and it's still one of my favorite amps.
They go for $600 new, so you can probably find a used one around $500. Don't pay $500 for the old cc1, the c1 crushes it.

The cc2 is the AC30. The new AC30c2 also stomps all over the AC30cc2.
They basically kept the price the same but added a ton of stuff to make the new c1/2's nicer.
Both got celestion greenbacks in place of the junk wharfedales, along with better reverb (still not as nice as say an RRR/Spring Chicken/Wet but it's an improvement). They also got rid of the ice pick highs (mods to tame the highs are a must for the old cc series). They also moved the tubes to a better spot/easier to reach.
The AC15c1 was upgraded with a 2nd input like the ac30 (normal and top boost) and was also given a tone cut knob (the cc1 had 1 input and no tone cut) For the AC30c2 there are actually 4 inputs for blending and they ditched the famously unstable gz34 tube rectifier (usually the #1 reason a ac30cc2 goes bad) and went silicon.
I have an ac30cc1 and I love it. Unfortunately it's not working right now... because of the fuckin gz34!
I would rather have a greenback than the stock speaker. But it sounds really good as it is also. I set mine pretty toned down usually for optimal fuzzage so the icepick highs aren't really a problem. Even with my Tele. I want to do the brightcap mod so I can turn the treble up a little.
The tubes are a pain to reach. I usually pop a vent off the top to mess with the gz34 to fix it.
I never really use the normal channel. When I fix it I think I'm gonna check it out again because I haven't plugged into the normal channel in forever. The tone cut knob is useful I use it all the time.
Teh internets say it's a poorman's Vox. Sounds a little different to me, but still has that "British" sound. Maybe more like if Fender had been started in the UK?
And it takes pedals better than a Vox from what I've heard.
I'd keep an eye out for one to try, they're definitely a good deal, and I think they've been discontinued, so you might be able to haggle on the price if you see one at a music store.

I've got one. One of the single channel jobbies with the wharfdale speaker in it and no tone cut knob. I've never had any problems with it's performance or tone. Lots of people HATE the reverb, and I mean *HATE HATE HATE HATE HATE.* But I like it. It has a massive, washy, "not your typical fender reverb" sound that works well for what I do. I crank the master volume and use the channel gain to control my stage volume. To be honest I mostly leave the tone controls on twelve oclock, and adjust the high end to taste when I get into the room.
Sounds killer. VERY FUCKING LOUD. If you're looking for a "Small" amp this actually may not be for you. I love mine. My only regret is that I don't have two of 'em.
I've played the new AC15 in a couple stores. I love the tone and onboard effects, but the lack of channel switching and an effects loop has kept me away from it. It's also the only amp I've ever heard "pops" from in a store. I don't know how most people feel about them, but have you demoed a Blackstar? They're more on the Marshall side of things, though.
