The knobs make them look like toys to me.

I'm going to have to take a slightly similar approach to my posts in the Blacktop thread. I can understand the disappointment in design if you're looking for a cheaper Fender jag or jazz, but these are Squiers. If they sound good, that's about all I ask for from a beginner/budget guitar. If I'm low on cash with no electric guitar, I could give a fuck if it has a strat input and a weird bridge, it's as close as I can get.
They look like fun to me.
Absolutely. My take- if you want a "proper" Jazzmaster, than buy a proper Jazzmaster. These look like nifty guitars, and harping over the bridge or input jack just seems petty.

I have actually gotten pretty used to the input jack to the point where it doesn't bother me anymore, but I just wish they had the standard jag/jm tremolo. Also, I wish they had more finishes...

Plus, if they're priced at the Jagmaster mark of $270, that's still a good amount of money. If they're up with the CV Duo Sonic, you're at $320. I got my Blacktop Jazzmaster for $400 shipped. For $80, I'd much rather have the traditional trem and jack setup. Not only that, but by all accounts that I've seen, the BT series is excellent quality. My BT Jazzy is easily on par with my CIJ Jag, and I've heard similar comparisons by others.
Plus, you can easily throw a Bigsby B5 on the BT Jag with a Vibramate. And a Bigsby on a Jag is amazing.![]()
For so many people calling for budget JM's and Jags for *so* long, you'd think they would have listened a bit more.
Yeah, I got a BT Jazzmaster just a few weeks ago, and I love it. It looks and feels like a high-quality Fender guitar. I got it with new pups and pots, so I'm not sure how they sound straight out of the box.
