Help with EHX Freeze

Post by in2thegapagain85 »

I acquired a used Freeze and the footswitch appears to be screwed up cause it won't turn on and off properly and feels glitchy. I tried to get one from a local electronics shop here but they didn't have it, anyone know where I might find one? And also, is it just supposed to be a normal footswitch (as opposed to momentary or anything else)?

I opened it up and got what specs I could, but just a little unsure.

Thanks!

SPDT Momentary I think...

This http://www.mammothelectronics.com/4SFSS ... 0-1008.htm Might fit the bill

Got a picture of the switch in question? You could also E-mail EHX and ask for a replacment part.

I emailed them early yesterday and still haven't heard back, I guess the main thing is I've never seen another freeze and just need to know if it's supposed to be momentary.

Thank you! I watched some videos and it looked that way, I'm not sure how this one has a clicking switch...weird

If you have the freeze on it's hold setting, not slow or fast, it needs to be quickly double tapped to turn off. It is a momentary switch but it does have a click to it. Hope that helps and I hope I'm not insulting your intelligence... :thumb:

Not at all. That's originally what I thought, but it doesn't click off correctly in latch mode. It takes quite a few tries to get it to turn off. And in the fast/slow modes, you can "click" it on and it will hold the note. From what I've seen it's supposed to hold the note while you hold the switch down...

I never even tried the silly fast/slow settings till now... I thought mine was messed up when I got it but you just have to get used to it... I use the latch and it takes two quick firm taps to toggle it off, one smooth step to latch... I hold it down and it seems to latch when I let up... I just tried the other modes and I can't get mine to click and stay on if that's what yours is doing... :idk: It's probably ok it's just kind of a funky button... Hope that helps... :thumb:
