GFS pickups

I was thinking if possibly putting in some new pups, saw the pups on guitarfetish.com. Anyone ever buy some of these? There very reasonably priced for my budget.
I was thinking of putting in a set of the Dream 90 humbucker http://www.guitarfetish.com/Dream-90-Hu ... _c_60.html
any opinions?

I've put some GFS pickups in several guitars, and only had INCREDIBLE experiences. Go for it. You won't regret it.

okay, thanks thats what i wanted to hear haha. you put in any dream 90s? i mostly play hardcore and progressive punk rock. I dont play anything high gain or very distorted just a thick warm overdriven crunch. Would these suit me?

Yeah, they'd probably sound great! I've never tried the dream 90s, but I really got that sound out of one of the mini humbuckers. Basically, their lower output models do that stuff so well.

I love the GFS stuff. Got some in my pbass, my semi hollow has the p90s, have a mini bucker and rail bucker that I sometimes put in my tele. Used to have the dream 180s and they were also great. If I get a bucker guitar I would likely get the dream180s again.

I put a Dream 90 in the neck position of one of my Les Pauls. I liked it but I ended up selling it to a friend and got a pair of Power Rails for the guitar. They are insane. I can't clean them up enough for my taste so they're going out and I have a set of the retrotrons coming now. I like GFS pickups.

Oh, my other guitarist put a set of Mean 90's in his Les Paul and likes them too.

i have a set of Dream 90s in my epiphone dot (which is for sale in the b/s/t forum btw). i think they are decent pickups for the price... especially to replace stock pickups on a cheaper guitar. i would say the neck pickup is especially good for the price, while the bridge is okay but a little bland. ive heard others have this same experience. they are fine is you want more of a lower output (than humbuckers) single coily sound. in hindsight, i wish i would have went with a Dream 90 neck and Mean 90 bridge. this is what i would suggest to you.

I have a set of the humbuckers in my Agile AL-2000. Cheap guitar + cheap pickups = amazing tone. It's almost not fair.

I got one of their Musicman pickups and for $30 it's fantastic.

literally everybody i've spoken to or seen post on forums who's tried their P90-type PUs has been pleased with them. i've heard the Dream 90s in the guitar of a friend with whom i played, and they sounded great. i don't know if they sound quite as good as regular soapbar P90s, but they sound pretty damn good. their Liverpool/Nashville FilterTron-style PUs and the surface-mounts that are intended to sub for Dynasonic/Rickenbacker PUs are less consistently liked; some people like them a lot, some find them useless, and--in contrast to the P90 types--nobody thinks they sound good as the originals. some folks like their Fender-type PUs; i had a set of Strat PUs that i thought were awful, ice-picky and cheap-sounding despite being billed as all vintage and shit. i've never seen any commentary at all on their PAF-style humbuckers. but i find it striking that i've never seen anyone say "these GFS P90s are crap! i'm going to get some xxxx and yank these suckers out." that says something, considering the pickiness of people on guitar forums and the severe cheepnis of GFS PUs.

after checking again the dream 90s i see they dont have high output, anyone kno the output for the mean 90s? should i go with a dream in the neck and a mean in the bridge? or just means in both

I have a Mean 90 in the neck of my SG and I absolutely love it. For what it's worth, I also have there Classic 59 or whatever it's called in the bridge, and another set in my Tele. I like em all!

I think like previously posted that a dream in the neck and a mean in the bridge would be a good combo.

yep... in my guitar at least, the neck Dream 90 seems to be way louder than the bridge Dream 90... I have to keep the neck pretty low to have a balanced volume between both pickups. the Mean 90s are a little louder. another reason why i think a Dream neck/Mean bridge would be a good combo. both pickups are moderate in terms of output volume, but again i find the dream neck to be pretty loud.
