Did some mods on the Rat today.
Changed 5 caps (bigger is better) and removed the clipping diodes.
swapped the in and out caps from .02 uf to .1 uf.
this was to allow more bass frequencies through
Changed the 100 pf cap across the distortion to 500 pf silver mica.
That changed the peak of the resonance circuit.
and changed the 2.2 and 2.7 uf caps to 10uf and 22 uf.
Added gobs of bass response.
I played with switches and ge, si and leds for clipping and liked the overall sound better with none in.
I'll get around to playing with op amps later and may swap the power adapter over to a Boss type too.
Note: those knobs are a bitch to get off, pulled the shaft out of one of the pots in the process. had to take it apart and rebuild it. Not hard but a pain in the ass just the same.
I ended up with a bass friendly machine, very dark very mean, very ugly.
OH the values of the caps were mostly chosen because they were in my parts drawers.

All my components come from cannibalized vintage radios and tape decks! haha. It's more fun that way... to see what components you get randomly will do, I sayssss.
