Cab Question... Hey you Guys!!!

Post by sonidero »

I've had this Sunn Concert Bass crying in my closet since '06 when I found it at Goodwill for $25... I've played it through the preamp out to a mixer but I've never played it through a cab... What should I look for, I can't even find the ohms on it... If any of y'all got some Sunn skills and knowledge please break 'em out for an ILF brother... Word and thanks... :hello:

JUST PLUG IT IN TO A FUCKING CAB AND PLAY IT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Really, I've never considered ohms on my Sunn, and it's never blown a transformer or anything like that.

I just played an Acoustic head through a Peavey 2x10/1x18 and it'll sound good with bass for sure! I'm trying to find a 2x10/1x15 or 18 but no one has a current production and those peaveys are hard to find.

If you got some loot get a Monolith anything!

I'd reccomend Avatar speakers, I'd get a 2x10 and a 1x15 or a 4x12.

Our bassist ended up with a sunn 610 and an ampeg 410.

He would like to get some 15s soon though. So I wouldn't go for 10 10s...

Check out Emperor cabs. My brother has a 4x12 and 2x15 and his bass rig sounds incredible. I use a 2x12 as part of my guitar rig and it rules as well, replaced my old Orange PPC212 recently. The cabs are totally customizable with any stain, grill, speaker etc...price is great too considering custom options and build quality! Plus, they're stunning to look at.
