That switchable 30w/1w sounds AWESOME
It's not available in the U.S. plus I don't want people to be influenced
Lots of smaller amps like the Night Train etc offer this option though.
JUST TELL US ALREADY SHIIIIIIIIT

to the man who said you need 10x the watts to double the volume, your half right! but it actually depends on where your standing relative to the amp cause that changes everything. huzaah
also, some manufacturers will have tranny's too big on the 30 and not big enough on the 15 cause the 15 is at a lower price point. if your building it than it doesn't matter so much. build it like orange with huge tranny's and caps.
Regards this, yes, the 10x wattage is just a rule of thumb, obviously other things come into it.
Actually I think it was made by an Ex-Designer of Orange Amps (I don't like Orange Heads in general as they sound Boxy to me) But that probably suggests it's Marshall Based.
As it's a cheap amp to start with, I think it probably is a smaller transformer in the 15W to cut down on price you're right.

Oh there was never a question of 'Too Loud' Just would I be loud enough to rock out with my cock out while the audience jammed out with their clams out
Some of the best sounding amps do not have master volume. Trainwreck express for example. You cant just slap a knob on it and expect it to sound the same at every volume. There are lots of tricks to add master volume but they are all kinda half assed. It works best on amps that dont rely on the power tubes to get their unique sound. The amps that dont saturate the power tubes, run the power tubes like a clean amp. Thats why its so easy to have a 30w 1w switch. Mesa has a 100w with a 5w switch but its got 6L6 which are almost always running clean in any amp that has 6L6
So yes there is such a thing as too loud. The night traing is pretty cool. I tried it on a bunch of cabs and guitars. Triode pentode switch is useful too
i played a peavey classic 30 today. not only was it a cool looking amp, mainly because i like tweed amps , but it sounded really nice too. 12ax7's in the preamp, and 4 EL84's. such a smooth sounding amp, had some breakup when i needed it, and a really nice warm clean tone, and for the price i was blown away. i didn't go over 4 on the volume and i'm pretty sure it could do a small gig just fine, as well as be my go to bedroom amp.might have to go back for it once i buy the girlfriends anniversary gift...
