How about the Deluxe Big Muff is just an Opamp Big Muff & Soul Preacher Combined (For the most cases)

So Just OpAmp Big Muff :joy:

Davegraz wrote:sorry for bumping old threads - i built a little variation on the one knob muff - spent a while experimenting with the transistors and clipping diodes, that schem and layout is a GREAT place to start - i threw a LBP/SHO type boost circuit before it (Switchable). it throws it totally over the top at lower volumes and is totally awesome.

this into a wooly mammoth clone i built is the heaviest thickest fuzz ever.

Is that my Layout you refer to? If so i'm glad you enjoyed it, i'll try and do a better one soon, for now, an unverified Big Muff for a 1590B on vero -

it was indeed scruffie, great job on that! i have to dig through my chicken scratch notes to see what i ended up changing in the diodes and transistors - the boost really throws it over the top. i appreciate the collaboration!

Cheers :thumb:

If I have the time i'll try and do one that's smaller with optional mods and onboard pots. Removing One Set of Diodes has always been a favourite of mine on Big Muffs though to make them Super Tone Benders, works a treat.

I think it more depends on outside factors rather than the fuzz itself. if I roll off the tone all the way on my bass, my AB becomes a totally different thing.

if you boost the fuck out of low mids and roll off the tone, i'm p sure just about any pedal becomes a stupidly fat elephant swamp monster.

just gotta hit the right "oomph" frequencies, imo.

A dude let me play his LP through a Creepy Fingers Doomidrive and an Orange (or maybe it was a Sunn???) halfstack a few weeks ago. That had some sack to it.

i promise i'll post the grey stache soon.. i just demo'd it for Veteransdaypoppy yesterday. I play super bright jangly clean tone, and it literally makes me sound like i recently drop tuned to A and threw on a set of 60-12's.

Well, if I may interrupt the conversation. Thickest fuzz? Hmmmmmm..............definately my Green Russian Muff clone by Paisley Tubby. It has a blend on it, lets me keep the lows better when I'm in low F standard. Muhahahahahahaha :animal:
