Right now, there's a bunch of Chinese 7" and 10" tablets flooding the market. For the most part, they run on the Android platform but they can be converted to run whatever OS you want. I've seen them as low as $250 here in Toronto. Smaller than the iPad, more useful in that, you're not locked into Apple and it's proprietary bullcrap, has bluetooth, a few USB, wifi and 3G. This is what I'm going for now, for portable music. Check them out when you get a chance.

I'm actually writing a 20min set of poppy-ish, jazz influenced stuff based around iphone/ipod apps and my guitar playing and loops
guitar->pedals->RC-20->amp
into the RC-20 I run either a mic, monotron or iphone :D

oh shit, thats one of the apps I use
Beatwave, melodica, tonepad, easybeats LE, Drum N bass, Drum Beats, Mo Beat, beatbox baby and Virtuoso

are the ones I'm currently using

what I'd really like, if anyone knows of one, is a library of beats with adjustable BPM, up to 160 bpm.
preferably breakbeats but lets be real, if you play anything fast enough it becomes a breakbeat :lol:
