I got some new pedals

Post by bass_econo »

This is a repost from HCFX, but they only care about El Capistans and M9s over there so... I got my Pitch Pirate from Doug on Saturaday! I'm way excited. I'm now looking to get a Psych Byke and Peace Gun!

This is from Doug -
also a little history on this pedal.
the enclosure spent the summer on display at the "museum of making music" "art of the stompbox" exhibit.
i just got it back,
so i added a circuit to the box (it was empty at the museum) and now its on its way to you.

I got these two today! I haven't had a chance to play either yet.

I got the Freq LSD from Ross Severson from Canyon of Static(ILF name - RossCanyonsofstatic). He included a CD with it and I'm really digging it. It's post-rock/shoegaze. Everyone should check them out -

Thanks guys!

I'm loving the pitch pirate and the F#5. The pitch pirate is a bit hard to understand at first but once you get the hang of it you can get some glorious sounds out of it. Weirdly enough I prefer the clari(not) before it. My favorite setting on the PP is a vibe-like pulse. I put the clari(not) before it and I get this weird ambient pulsing-oscillation type sound. It works really well for spacious, ambient stuff. The pulse just stays there feeding off itself. Hard to describe but I dig it a lot.
The F#5 is just a great overdrive. I can't find a bad setting on it. It's not too bright or too dark. It's what I thought the red llama was going to be like (i.e.- fuzzy overdrive) but I felt the llama failed at. I know a lot of people love the RL but it sounded dull to me.

The Freq LSD is a MONSTER. Weird decays... oscillation... odd harmornics... weird tracking sort of stuff... with the Freq switched on it's out of control. Not sure it's what I'm looking for though. It's not bad in anyway. Just not what I'm looking for really. A friend of mine has a peppermint dark and I love the sound of that fuzz... only if it had a Freq switch on it!

Anyways....

Well I've been trying to get that lsd for ever. I think that one has gone through at least 4 people on here already. If you decide to rid yourself of it...you know
