Electric Wizard - Black Masses

Post by Trifarce »

What do you guys think of the new Wizard CD? I like it, but it's mixed pretty badly, if I don't set my ipod eq to treble reducer it hurts my ears in a bad way :idk:

I totally dig it. Sounds like it straight from the 70s. "Venus in Furs" and "Turn off your mind" are definitely my favorites. The only track I dislike is "Nightchild" just because that riff is pretty weak. Other than that I think it's really great, nice riffs, great vocals, and nice long psychedelic jams.

This album and The Black Keys' Brothers were probably the two biggest albums this year for me.

Loving it. A nice progression on the Witchcult sound and Jus' vocals sound fantastic on this :wizard:

I haven't picked it up yet, but I will eventually. I expect to like and not love it, just like everything else they've done since Dopethrone.

They are always worth listening to, but the magic was with the original lineup. :excellent:

What he/she said. :)
Had the luck to see them live in Cologne recently, really nice show although the venue sucked big time.
After the show I was kinda stoned by passive smoking...

The only other Electric Wizard exposure I've had is Supercoven, and I liked that. This record is kind of "eh" with me right now, maybe it'll change.

I have a hard time deciding which is better: Dopethrone or Come My Fanatics.

So, get both. This is directed at everyone. Including those who already own both albums. I have three different copies of Dopethrone, so no god damn excuses.

I first thought: Cool a Velvet Underground cover, but it's not that, but still sounds great, have to listen to that Album on Spotify soon!
