Synth pedals: Which ones do you like?

Post by dorfmeister »

I played with an EHX Ring Thing and a Pog 2 with delay and reverb the other night and was getting some fantastic psychedelic, ambient, noisy, and just plain wonderfully weird sounds.

Made me think about the possibilities of these kinds of pedals. I am wondering what synth pedals you've tried and which you've actually purchased and used. Any synergy between these and each other or with other non-synth pedals?

Some synthy pedals I have seen on the net:

Pigtronix Mothership:

EXH Hog

EHX POG

EHX Micro Synth

Robot Factory Quad Octave Synth Box

Robot Factory Pulse Synth

Snazzy Fx Mini Ark

Synthmonger Pulsemonger

I know there must be others but these were some pedals I knew of off the top of my head.

I had a thread a few months ago where there were a few other very interesting suggestions:

I've been eyeballing an EHX Microsynth for a while now but I want a big box version and they seem to pop up pretty rarely these days..... found a guy on craigslist selling one w/ no adapter for a reasonable price....... hopefully this weekend I go and make a deal..........

My favorite is still the Digitech XP-300 Space Station.
I wanted one for a very long time and finally found it for a reasonable price.
It is not really plug and play and needs some time to get used but offers tons of cool sounds.

I got a Ring Thing many months ago and I'm still having a blast with it, so many sounds to play around with. I'm also a big fan of the XP300, I don't use it all the time but love to break it out every once in a while if I'm in a real trippy mood. I've also tried the XP1000, a great way to go if you find one, has all 4 XPs in one box. The dude that does them just sold a few on ebay.
